Restorative Treatment

We are pleased to offer high-quality restorative dentistry at River Dental Arts. Dr. Emily Zeisler is committed to using the most high quality and effective materials to get the best result for her patients. We offer a number of restorative dental options to meet your individual needs.

Implant Restoration

If you are missing a tooth for any reason, having an implant is the replacement option that will most mimic the characteristics of your natural tooth.  We restore implant crowns as single-unit replacements, bridges of multiple teeth, and as support for dentures.  Dr. Zeisler coordinates treatment with the best local surgeons to plan and deliver the most ideal implant restoration for our patients.

Bridges

Bridges can be used to replace anywhere from single, to multiple teeth.  Bridges can be fabricated by crowning natural teeth, and attaching these crowns to one another in a way that replaces adjacent missing teeth.  Bridges can work in a similar manner with implants, but attaching adjacent implant crowns in order to fill in spaces in the dentition. A bridge is typically fixed in the mouth and this option is chosen by patients who prefer a non-removable option to replace teeth.

 Tooth Fillings

When a tooth exhibits decay or damage, Dr. Zeisler uses a resin, tooth colored filling to repair the tooth after cleaning the damaged area.  There is an art to carefully and atraumatically removing decay and preparing the tooth to be properly filled.  When placing fillings, we are committed to keeping  you comfortable while we carefully work to restore the shape, shade, and function of your tooth.

Crowns

Crowns are used to cover and protect a tooth that has significant loss of structure due to fracture, decay, or replacement of previous restoration that is no longer ideal.  At times it becomes necessary to cover the remaining tooth with a crown to conserve and protect what remains.  Whether placing a single crown, or creating a solution for more complex restorative needs, Dr. Zeisler will work hard to select the most ideal material and shade to maintain and restore your smile.

 Dentures

When all the teeth are in need of replacement, we offer different types of denture solutions.  Dentures can be partially or completely supported by implants to enhance their retention and natural appearance and function. Regardless of which type of prosthetic you or your loved one are seeking, Dr. Zeisler will take the time and care to explain all of your options and to deliver the most comfortable, natural looking result possible.

Partials

For situations where multiple teeth are missing, a more cost-conservative option is to design a removable partial denture that clasps to the remaining strong teeth.  Partial dentures can be made as temporary solutions during the implant healing phase, or as a more durable, long-term prosthesis.

Dental Extractions

When a tooth is damaged beyond repair, Dr. Zeisler is often able to comfortably remove the tooth to get you out of pain or prevent future toothaches.   We will begin by diagnosing and evaluating your needs, and if we are not able to address them, we will refer to one of our local dental specialists.

Oral Sedation

For those patients feeling  anxious about dental treatment or about a particular procedure, we do offer the option of prescribing oral medication that you take before your appointment to help you feel more at ease. Dr. Zeisler will carefully review your medical history and all current medications to make sure this option is safe for you.
